Lordsland Conservancy Preserve is Open

The Blueway is growing! Otsego Land Trust acquired the 80-acre Lordsland preserve from The Nature Conservancy and will continue to keep it open for public access hiking and birding.

There are two trails on the property, each about three-quarters of a mile long. Please park at the trail-head and respect the neighboring residential property lines.

The West Trail along Gage Road, which has orange trail markers, crosses abandoned meadows as it goes down to the beaver ponds, then turns to the right, follows the ponds, and then turns right again back to the entrance.

The East Trail along Doc Alhers Road is currently under maintenance with an anticipated re-opening in 2020.

Lordsland is also home to the highest quality known stand in New York State of Jacob’s ladder, a globally rare plant. Please be considerate and practice the “take only pictures, leave only footprints” mantra that allows our Blueway properties to remain healthy and beautiful for all visitors.

Trail maps will be added to the website shortly.
